Though they are often delicious, they have practically no nutritional value, providing only empty calories and doing nothing to satisfy hunger. Our baked goods are different. Why we use only Whole Grains?- Health experts advise that grains are a healthy necessity in every diet, and that it's important to eat at least half our grains as "whole grains." Whole grain flour provides valuable antioxidants not found in fruits and vegetables, as well as B vitamins, vitamin E, magnesium, iron and filling fiber. Why we use only Unrefined Sugars? - Unlike refined sugars, which are stripped of nutrients, the unrefined sugars we love to use contain naturally occurring nutrients such as magnesium, potassium, zinc, iron, B vitamins and 16 vital amino acids. Coconut sugar, an unrefined sugar that we love to use, has a lower glycemic index than refined white sugar meaning you'll feel fuller longer along with decreasing your chance of a sugar crash. Why we use only Organic Ingredients? - Organic foods are free of chemicals and safer than products derived from industrial agriculture. When you eat organic, you are guaranteed to have no chemicals added to your products that can cause health problems and you are guaranteed that your food is not genetically modified (GM). Why we use only Fair Trade Chocolate? - It's simple. Because everybody deserves a fair wage. Specifically, we love that it helps to make cocoa farming around the world more sustainable as it guarantees minimum prices and provides a premium to invest in local communities. As a result, farmers can provide a better future for themselves and their families.
